Mindful Makers is looking for folks who are enthusiastic about making stuff, willing to learn on the spot and go with the flow of a fun-filled camp environment! Volunteers need to be 16 years of age or older, and will be asked to lend a helping hand as we make things, take photos during camp, helping run outdoor games, and assist with general supervision of the campers. Consider yourself a maker leader in training! Volunteering is a great way for us to get to know you, and could lead to future employment opportunities :)
If you'd like to count your time at camp towards high school volunteer hours, please check with your school before committing to a session to avoid any confusion or disappointment later. During our summer camp, we are looking for a minimum one week commitment for our young leaders in training. If you are an adult that would like to volunteer and can only come certain days, please let us know in the form below. We run other programming throughout the year for things like PA Days, Winter Break and March Break. We welcome volunteers to help out at any of our camps year-round.
Staff and volunteers are expected to be at camp from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm daily.
We will need you to provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check if you are 18 or older. If you have a check that is a year or more old, we'll need you to get a new one from your local Police Station. The Cambridge Station has a very fast turn around (we've been told they do them while you wait). We will provide you with a letter that you will need to print and take with you. This letter will reduce the VSC fee to $10. We can reimburse you this cost if you provide us with a receipt. Please note these checks can take about 3 weeks to process, so keep this in mind when choosing when you'd like to volunteer with us.
