CAFKA Family Days : Self Portrait Agamographs

Date: Saturday June 9th

Time: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Place: Kitchener Farmers Market

Cost: PWYC / $5 suggested

Make your own personalized Agamograph with us! We’ll help you take a self portrait, and turn it into a colouring book picture to create a 2-sided piece of art. Your images will be visible when viewed from opposite angles. Suitable for all ages; children must be accompanied by an adult.

Family Sundays at KWAG

Another edition of Box Fort Building will be taking place in the gallery's community room. Drop in and help us making an epic fort! Learn about the tools and methods we use for cardboard building and get some hands on experience in this awesome medium!

February 2017

 

Family Hack Jam

Date: Monday, February 20

Time: Doors open at 10 am. Showcase projects at 3 pm. Doors close at 4 pm.

Place: THEMUSEUM, 10 King St W, Kitchener

Cost: Admission for visitors ages 3 and up is $8.95+HST

Join us for a day of celebrating maker culture at the Family Hack Jam where  we will be running a cardboard fort building zone! 
Parents and children will work together to build an epic box fort! We provide the materials and tools, you bring the imagination and elbow grease. Together we will build a corrugated playground where creative ideas and hands-on skills are put into practice. We will have hand saws, pokey tools, staplers, fasteners, tape, markers and an electric scroll saw for cutting intricate shapes from cardboard. Parents must supervise their children when using tools in the cardboard fort.

Other activities organizations providing activities at this event include: The Underground Studio, Hive Waterloo, Hackademy, Waterloo Public Library, and Inksmith!

NYE Celebration

Date: Saturday, December 31, 2016

Time: 6 - 9 pm

Place: Waterloo Public Square

Cost: Free

We'll be running a paper party hat making station as one of many activities to see and try this New Years Eve. Take a selfie in our cardboard time machine, or launch some LED rockets and fireworks. Try out the slinging helicopter toys or get hit with a burst of smoke from an air cannon! And of course the skating rink will be open for all to enjoy with music to skate to.
