Week 1
Letter To My Future Self
Welcome to Week 1 of your Smash Book! Today, you will write a letter to your future self. In 365 days, “future you” will open up this letter and read it after one whole year of Smashbooking! How cool is that?
try these prompts to write a letter to your future self:
What things in your life are you grateful for right now?
This could be things like…
My pets, my family, my friends
Do you have any hopes for the year ahead?
This could be things like…
I hope to read 3 new books, I hope to make a new friend at school, I hope to visit and explore new places.
What kinds of things would you like to learn or try this year?
This could be things like…
Learning how to knit, building my own robot, or learning how to play the violin.
After writing your letter, create a custom envelope and install it on the inside back cover of your Smash Book.
Step 1. Print out the template to create your own envelope, or you can also use a ready made envelope if you have one.
Step 2. Cut out the shape of the envelope, fold along the lines, and decorate it any way you’d like! Or if you have special colourful paper, use the templates as a tracer instead.
Step 3. Use a glue stick to paste it on the back inside cover of your Smash Book and put your letter inside for safekeeping. You can even add a note... “Do not open until _____ “ (today’s date 1 year from now).
