Welcome to week ten of your Smash Book! Today, you will be making your very own two-character comic book. Cool, right?

Step 1. You can start getting inspired by brainstorming on a separate sheet of paper. Try to imagine some different character concepts for who will be in your comic! You can even try sketching out a simple layout for your comic, or imagine different situations you want your characters to be in.

For each section, roll a six sided dice, and see what it lands on. From there, you can make an original comic.

Step 2. Once you have some ideas, fill out the comic planning page. Here, you will decide on the who, where, and what of your comic! Once this is finished, cut it out and paste it into your Smash Book with a glue stick. 

Step 3. It’s time to get started on the comic book! Before you start drawing in the comic panels, fold up the template so you can see the order of the pages! Then, you can draw and colour in each frame of your comic. It will be easier to draw the outlines with the comic folded up, and then to colour them in with the comic unfolded! Use the comic references page to come up with exciting expressions and speech bubbles for your characters.

Step 4. Now it’s time to make the pocket that your comic will go in! There are two templates you can choose from, one with a stitched pocket pattern and one blank one. Whichever you choose, cut it out using scissors and decorate it however you’d like.

Step 5. Fold along the lines of the template, then use a glue stick to glue the sides together. Once it dries, you can glue the entire back of your pocket, and stick it into the next page of your Smash Book! Make sure you wait for it to fully dry before putting your comic inside.
