Miniature dioramas
In this one day workshop we will explore the art of miniature dioramas to create a whimsical forest inspired scene. Students will have the opportunity to get hands on with a mix of natural materials like sticks, rocks and moss as well as artist materials like paint, clay and hot glue. A lesson in safe handling of hand saws, drills and hot glue will be given to our older students. Our Mini Makers will receive help from an instructor with any cutting or gluing they require for their project.
In additon to creating our forest dioramas, we will create miniature doll characters inspired by the artist Salley Mavor. These characters will create a focal point in our scene, and can be played and moved around inside their miniature world.

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS:
We are so excited about the opportunity to be back with our students, creating art together in the classroom. Here are the measures we will be putting in place to keep everyone safe during their time with us.
We ask that you use this screening survey and verify upon arrival that your child is allowed to attend camp that day. If you are unable to attend camp because your child is required to isolate (currently experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or have had a close contact with a positive case) we are offering refunds for days not attended for these reasons.
Masks are required to be worn indoors. We will have new spares on site as well. In the event of rain during nutrition breaks, we will have our campers eat indoors, with social distancing of 6 feet or more if possible. Open windows and area fan ventilation will be set up in our classrooms to provide a fresh air exchange in our space. We are unable to allow exemptions to our mask policy.
Hand sanitizer will be provided and hand cleaning will be required before and after break times. Common touch surfaces will be cleaned daily.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
