Materials:
Start saving up your cardboard!
Students will need to provide their own supplies, including but not limited to:
cardboard boxes
cereal boxes
paper cups
egg cartons
toilet paper or paper towel rolls
tape (we recommend brown paper tape or masking tape)
cutting tool (we recommend the Canary cardboard saw)
scissors
painting supplies
hot glue and white glue
elastic bands
buttons + twist ties or butterfly pins
pencils and markers
string / yarn
stay connected:
Students will get access to our Google Classrooms online community so that even when we sign off from our live meetups, they’ll still be able to check back in to access our instruction sheets, templates, ask questions and even upload photos of their finished projects for a chance to win our weekly prize draw!
Our project line up:
MONDAY
Playing dress-up is a lot more fun with cardboard. In this class our students will create their own made-to-fit wearable head piece. These skills are sure to come in handy again later this year when Halloween rolls around.
TUESDAY
Design your own grabber toy that moves! This simple but impressive scissor mechanism can be used to make custom props or puppets for hours of play time fun.
WEDNESDAY
These cheerful egg carton flowers will transform your pencils from “meh” to “marvelous”. Students will also learn to weave a custom pencil holder using a paper cup and string.
THURSDAY
Who doesn’t love a diorama? Making playful scenes on a miniature scale makes you the master of your mini universe. And we’ll need some characters to live inside those worlds so we’re making some new friends from TP rolls too!
FRIDAY
We’ll wrap up the week by making this awesome cardboard puck-chucking game that is sure to be lots of fun for the whole family.
