TIME:
We run 2 hours meetups daily from 10 am - 12 noon.
Sessions:
Register for a full week, or join us for a drop-in day.
We’re offering 1 week sessions for the following dates:
July 19 - 23
July 26 - 30
August 3 - 6 (short week)
August 9 - 13
AGES:
Our programming is recommended for ages 9 and up. However, if your child is an avid crafter and under the age of 9 they’re still welcome to participate but may need a helping hand now and then.
Teens are welcome!
We expect that our students should have some previous experience with hand sewing and should be confident in their ability to thread a needle, make a knot and untangle caught thread during our sewing activities.
We will also be using a hot glue gun in a couple of our projects.

Students will need to provide their own supplies, including but not limited to:
needle and thread
fabric scraps
sheets and or scraps of craft felt
yarn
sharp scissors for cutting yarn and fabric

Our project line up:
MONDAY
Bring your very own pom-pom pal to life using a ball of yarn and a little hot glue! This project includes a printable templates for making your own cardboard pom-pom makers in various sizes. This craft will require someone with developed hand strength for tying off the pom-poms.
TUESDAY
Sewing adorable felt decorations is a lot of fun, and even more fun to collect onto your backpack. Or they could be given as gifts to say thank you to someone, or you could even get a head start on making your winter holiday ornaments! Our lesson comes with printable PDF template designs, ready to use.
WEDNESDAY
Make a sweet little cake ring pincushion to wear on your finger while you stitch, so you’ll never lose your needle in the middle of a project again! Project options also include making a cactus pincushion from green fabric and a small pot. Beads and buttons are recommended.
THURSDAY
Sewing sock buddies is a well loved activity at Mindful Makers. Our students have brought so many amazing stuffed sock creatures to life over the past few years, and we’re excited to continue the tradition with you at home. You might just have everyone in your house guarding their socks for fear of losing them to your craft stash!
FRIDAY
We’ll wind down the week by winding up some yarn, on our fingers! Finger knitting is a very accessible craft, all you need is a ball of yarn, a pair of scissors and a hand! This simple and repetitive technique is a great introduction for children who are interested in learning more about how to make with all sorts of yarn-based crafts like weaving, needle knitting and crochet. It’s fun to do and you can use your finger knitting results as hair or accessories for your sock buddy project!
