Who is the box for?
While our intention with this kit is for kids to be able to work independently, we recognize that everyone will have their own experience level with these skills, and some may still require a helping hand (especially those around the age of 7-9). We’ll leave it up to you to decide if this kit is a good fit for your child. In fact, we think adults will love these activities too!

What’s in the box?
This kit contains over 150 carefully curated tools and materials which will be used to create 12 original art projects that we know you’re going to love.
We have produced many accompanying educational videos and a printed activity guide book to help you through each step of the way. Our projects are designed to be worked on at your own pace, so you can take the time you need to complete them.
Many of our projects include additional materials which can be shared, or you can use them to continue to hone your skills and make more than just one of each project. After you’re done creating the projects, you’ll still have many tools and materials left over to be used in future projects throughout the year.
We’ve created fun and engaging videos to guide you through our projects!
Our Material Minutes segments teach you facts and history about the materials used in our kit
Explore various drawing styles in our Daily Doodles lessons
Meet artists & makers in interviews hosted by our mascot, Nimble Nimbus
Our Mindful Moments poems & colouring pages reflect on a new positive affirmation each day
Learn facts about local plant life with Mardi Mars da Gnome!
Okay that sounds great! But what’s actually in the box?

4 cardstock cover sheets

This kit includes:
2 coin cell batteries
6 different LEDs
a meter of copper tape
elastic
paper clip
plastic straw
pipe cleaners
printed circuit templates
You will need to provide your own cardboard to complete this project.
Day 2
DIY Cardboard Tool Boxes
This kit comes with so many tools and materials that we’re going to need to build our own tool boxes to keep them all organized! We’ll have a few different patterns to follow, and encourage you to modify them to suit your needs.
This kit includes:
a very special Japanese Canary Cardboard Saw that we love and use at camp often. It has a serrated blade that makes cutting cardboard a breeze, but at the same time is safe enough to handle without worry.
3 full rolls of our favourite tape
pokey tool
straight edge (for cutting)
plastic ruler
soft retractable measuring tape
pencil
pencil sharpener
eraser
fasteners (twist ties, buttons, butterfly pins, elastics)
Collage & Card Making
Explore the art of paper craft through experimental mark making and collage. We’ll be creating our own one-of-a-kind “art papers” which will be cut up and pasted together into collage art cards. A great project to spread a little cheer by sending out to friends and family.
This kit includes:
9 pre-cut card bases in bright rainbow colours
6 cardstock sheets to create various “art papers”
a watercolour palette
3 fine artist brushes
a glue stick
24 crayons
8 washable Crayola broadline markers

googly eye stickers
a zippered portfolio pouch
fine and ultra fine black markers

a randomly chosen patterned sock
a cup of rice for weight

scissors
8 coloured spools of thread

Tie Dyeing
Create your own beautifully dyed items with these vibrant Procion MX Fibre Reactive Dyes! This will definitely be the messiest craft in this kit, but the results are so worth it!
This kit includes:
a 50 gram ball of white cotton yarn
this will be sectioned into skeins to be dyed individually and can be used in Day 4’s activity of tapestry weaving
2 pre-washed square cotton bandanas
Wear them as a headband, a kerchief, a DIY mask, sew it into a pillow…lots of possibilities!
1 pair of size small nitrile gloves
3 reusable squeeze bottles with pre-measured amounts of Procion MX Dye (Fuchsia, Yellow, Turquoise) and Urea
a pre-measured mix of non-iodized salt and soda ash
a table cloth
a plastic shoebox with lid
24 oz storage container
6 small mixing cups
10 zip top bags for storing dyed items
You will have enough dye left in the kit to also dye a couple of your own t-shirts too! Instead of buying a new white shirt, why not try over-dyeing an old shirt to give it a new life? Just make sure the tag says 100% cotton!
Day 4
Needle Felting
Make your own functional and adorable pin cushion from sheep’s wool! Project plans also include instructions for making a simple felted heart using our custom 3D printed mould.
Learn the art of needle felting and happily stab the hours away. Felting has always been a popular camp activity and so we knew it had to be included in this kit.

60 grams of dyed wool (in 12 colours)
4 felting needles (two coarse, 2 fine)

a band-aid for when you eventually poke yourself (don’t worry it happens to everyone!)
This kit will provide hours of mindful fun and a handy place to store your sharp tools!
Weaving on a Frame Loom
Tapestry wall hangings are back in vogue! We’ve seen a lot of beautiful woven work pop up all over the internet and we are so excited to put this kit together for you to create your very own frame loom!
The loom construction is very simple and will require some gluing, clamping and pin assembly before you can start weaving.
This kit includes:
a 50 gram ball of white chunky yarn

ball of cotton warp string
4 wooden pieces to create the frame of the loom

Day 5
Earth Buddy Head
Create your own little patch of greenery right inside your home! Yes, these earth buddy heads will bring a spark of joy to your windowsill.

Clay + Plaster Relief Tiles
Make a real impression with this simple but beautiful plaster tile project.
We’ll be working with clay to capture impressions of nature, and cast them using plaster. These two materials are used extensively in the art world, and this is great introduction project to show how they can be used together to create expressive and unique art.
